TeeVee audio amp gaving it up
Cold weather operation, which may change when warmer.
Software auto-off/on LED television function. Switched back on,
there's a minute or two delay, after which, the audio amplifier goes
nuts, into a full-volume condition similar to white-noise. Vol turned
fully off still leaks some discernable crackling.
Then after some time, once again, it ceases. Worst is speakers are
hardwired into unit, so the 32" has to be laid on a blanket in the
middle of a large area to be disassembled, from the back panel, if the
speaker connects are to be severed.
Leave it alone and don't take a risk from disassembly, leave the
control audio in a off/minimal state, or otherwise to possibly 'move
Meaning, probably better off with a USB powered audio 'stereo'. (A
fairly well-regarded reception, actually, P&P USB preamps.) It's also
the most compact for the smallest amount of money. I've very
minimalist audio needs in this instance, as well a spare USB
speaker-only station, which is basically a 4" or 5" cube, and amp,
wherein two stereo speakers detach themselves. Minimal wiring or
power source considerations for hardly better quality than a MB boot
speaker included on a computer case.
Headphones I won't wear and are out of the question, but USB devices
for audio streaming have advanced quite a bit. There's also dis- or
assembled PCB board amplifier kits, relatively tiny for decently
modest wattage, Singapore items, which may be suited a PC PWR supply.
Better audio USB-driven quality may be feasible for no budget, highly
compactive, and further consideration. No better for the best
performance at the least price, I'd say. Running off a PC PWR supply
may be the imposition, though.
